Mid-May 2017 we hosted a private event, just for MOHF members. It was the social event of the season! We showed the 1980's classic, Caddyshack, on the big screen and attendees dressed up as their favorite club member or "shack" employee. And just for fun, we held a Caddyshack 18-question trivia contest!

Attendees joined us for an afternoon of wine, pampering and fun to celebrate Mother's Day in style! The wine tasting was provided by Grace Hill Winery and manicures by Crave Beauty. The event included a raffle for 4 special Mother's Day Baskets (each valued at $350 +). 

February 2017

During February 2017, we held a once in special raffle event to help raise awareness for CHD awareness month. Up for grabs was a priceless and collectible bottle of 1980 Vintage O.F.C. Bourbon, never before sold and only now has it been awarded to 100 charities for fundraising purposes. The same bottle had previously been auctioned off for over $13,000 but ticket purchasers had the chance to win this bottle for just $100. 1 in 100...the same odds of being born with a congenital heart defect.

Included in our HeART Opening Gala was a Mighty Oakes Heart Foundation Market full of MOHF apparel and specialty, hand-made, heart-themed gifts to purchase. There was a small, but mighty silent auction as well as a live auction featuring very unique and coveted auction items. Without a doubt, the highlight of the night was the spectacular art work from some of the best area artists. The art featured within this HeART Opening included original pieces which were donated by professional artists, MOHF supporters both young and old, and, most recently, from some of our friends and campers at St. Louis Children's Hospital's 2016 Camp Rhythm. Throughout the Contemporary Art Museum, food stations featured delicious local fare while a live DJ kept things hopping. The Fish Eye Fun photo booth was a big hit!

Spring 2015

In 2015, 50-60 indiviudal volunteer baseball players gathered at the Gateway Grizzlies Stadium in Sauget, Illinois to play baseball for 70 consecutive hours, setting a new Guinness World Record!  Each player rasied at least $1000 in donations to support families coping with the traumatic reality of congenital heart defects.

Runners and their families supported the Mighty Oakes Heart Foundation and enjoyed the fall scenery along the trails of LaSalle Springs, located right outside of Wildwood, Missouri. 

December 2013

American Mothers Inc. profiled Becky and MOHF on its motherhood blog. "The loss of a child ... It’s an intense, nightmarish, life-altering trial to endure," reads the post. "But in the case of one mother, and her brave little boy, that struggle created something that’s helping hundreds of families across the country in similar battles."

Becky was in the running for a $40,000 Rare Life Award sponsored by Eagle Rare Life -- the money would benefit MOHF families in immeasurable ways. Results were announced in the spring... stay tuned! And to all of you who voted, sincerest thanks for your support.

Hundreds of MOHF supporters gathered in the Starlight Room of the Chase Park Plaza Hotel -- just six blocks north of St. Louis Children's Hospital -- to raise funds for heart families in need. It was a MIGHTY night full of laughter, love, and generosity! 

Oct. 17, 2013

PEG Bandwidth, LLC, a premier provider of customized back-haul networks and other wireless infrastructure solutions, hosted its Inaugural charity golf tournament on Oct. 17, 2013, at The Tribute Golf Club, in The Colony, Texas. The event generated over $100,000 net proceeds to benefit The Mighty Oakes Heart Foundation. Read a press release about the event from PEG Bandwidth. Sept. 28, 2013

MOHF's second-annual 5K/1-mile fun run was held Sept. 28  at LaSalle Springs Middle School. Mighty fun was had by all ages and all ranges of runners and walkers. Thank you to the hundreds who came out in support of MOHF and the families we support!

May 18, 2013

At the Cardinals baseball game on May 18, Greg Ortyl threw out the first pitch in honor of Oakes and all those affected by Congenital Heart Defects. MOHF sold almost 500 tickets to the game, many of which were donated to families in the CICU at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. It was a magical night for all who attended.

April 2013

Becky was named a 2013 Young Mother of the Year by American Mothers Inc. She received the award at a special ceremony in New York City. Congratulations, Becky, on this awesome achievement!
